Hey there,
If you've friends who are currently studying in tertiary institutions, you'll probably know quite well that it's the time for graduation ceremonies! I had mine on the 29th of May, at 6pm.. YES 6pm! Tell me, who graduates in the evening?! The sun has gone down and that explains all the poor quality photos. Such a bummer. In addition, the evening heat is crazy. I had actually planned to head down early to school to take some pictures with my friends, but by the time we arrive we were all sweaty and frustrated we just really couldn't be bothered to find good background to take pictures. I actually brought makeup to touch up my face, but in the end I was more concerned about getting into the ceremony venue asap than how my makeup looked to be honest.
Nonetheless, it was an exciting night for me, and I was proud to be a part of Temasek Polytechnic! Seeing all the familiar faces once again, felt like going home to me. I know everyone will probably head in different directions from now on, but all I wanted was to cherish that joyous moment with the friends I love. Many thanks to everyone who came down to support me!
I always thought that when the graduates are getting ready to receive their certificate, there would be a moment where each and every one of them will flashback to the years spent in school with the friends they will never forget. However, when I was on the steps waiting for my turn to strut across the stage, my mind was blank and my heart was beating so hard I could hear it in my ears. I did not know exactly what I was doing, but as I walked towards the presenter, I just felt like the distance was really far, as if I was unable to reach him. In the end, I was too eager to reach him so I started taking big strides and extended my hand wayyy too early. Of course I didn't realize that when I was in the moment, but after that when I looked through the video recording from the boyfriend, it was quite awkward and embarrassing. (Or maybe I was just reading too much into it) I only remember hearing Dav & Nat cheering for me, but not the words of the presenter. He probably said Congratulations or something, I guess.
My flashback moment hit me, when I was out of the limelight and exiting the stage. All the late night project rushing sessions, camwhore sessions, sleeping in lectures, debating with tutors, achievements and what nots all came rushing back to me. I just cannot believe 3 years passed by so quickly! It all felt like yesterday when I was worried about entering Temasek Polytechnic because I suck at making friends.
But it's all over now, and I have done a good job propelling myself forward. I would like to extend my gratitude to all the people who have participated in this particular part of my life. In addition, I would like to thank myself for having enough determination and perseverance to survive through all of these.
Pictures time! They are not in order, and I could not fix the bad lighting and quality, sorry!
