Hey there, I'm back from my staycation!
We went to Hard Rock Hotel for a 2D1N staycation to celebrate our graduation. As expected, the staycation was as chaotic as it can be, but we had lots of fun.
I had quite a high expectation for Hard Rock Hotel because its quite reputable and being located in RWS means it should at least be of a certain good standard. However, I cannot be more disappointed with my experience there.
We booked the deluxe pool view room and our room was located on the 5th floor. Our pool view was quite restricted due to the low floor we were located on. It didn't really matter actually, since we were not there for the view.
However, one thing I really cannot stand is a dusty room. When we first entered the hotel room, it stank of muskiness and was very dusty! The shelves were filled with dust and the wardrobe had a really bad odour. My skin is quite sensitive to dust and I immediately felt itchy all over.
In addition, there were no wine glasses provided and the HDMI television had no HDMI insertion ports whatsoever. That completely ruined out plans for the night because we brought along some movies in a thumb drive to play on the television. The past few hotels I've stayed before all had HDMI ports to play our own movies, and I don't see why Hard Rock Hotel's televisions don't have one. We called the reception and they said that there is no such function available even though the television has HDMI capabilities. (Roll eyes)
Other than these, the beds were clean and we were only staying for a night so we decided to bear with it.
Our staycation began with us filming a "Blindfold makeup" video and I swear the entire process was a joke. We drew lots to see who will be doing whose makeup. Natalie got to do for me, while I did for Davina. As the first guinea pig of the "Blindfold Makeup" video, I was quite lucky because Natalie has awesome makeup skills and even when she can't see a thing I did not end up looking like a ghost/drag queen unlike the rest of them. (OPS!) Huisan ended up looking like she performed in the Chingay, Davina looked like a panda, Brigid had crazy eyeliner and Natalie had her double eyelids emphasized. I looked the most normal in the end so Natalie added two messy strokes of eyeliner below my eyes. The videos and pictures of our craziness are still stored away in Nat's camera, so I'll include them in OBC staycation part 2!
I also taught them some ballet moves such as the pirouette. Natalie almost gave me a heart attack when she spun and fell down, I seriously thought she sprained her ankle or something. I have a weak heart, don't do this to me Nat!!
We went swimming in the Hard Rock pool and it was so cold I thought i was going to die. Davina did not want to swim so she ended up being our camerawoman who took sooooo many unglam shots of us.
We had dinner in Astons and after all that swimming I was so hungry I finished all my food, to their surprise. It was my first time eating Astons' mac & cheese (don't judge) and I finally understand why so many people are addicted to it. Later that night we went strolling around RWS and returned to our hotel to indulge in our sparkling Moscato and nom on chips. We were so determined not to sleep the night away but Huisan fell asleep at about 12am, followed by Natalie and we eventually all dozed off until 9am. I did not sleep well thanks to Dav's never ending snores and Huisan's whack in the face. (Sniff sniff)
Ended the staycation by having breakfast at Mcdonalds, where Natalie told us a horror story which spooked Davina so much she had to scream out loud. I swear we all got a shock not because of the story but because of her super loud scream.
It was quite a simple staycation but every second was filled with laughters! I will miss these girls when we all go our separate ways. Love ya'll, OBC!
