Hey there,
It's that time again for another monthly favorites post. I can't believe almost half of 2014 is gone already, it's just insane. May ended in quite a rush for me probably because I was busy working, and June started with so much sadness.. I just hope the rest of the month can go smoothly, I won't load you with anymore of my tear jerking story for now, so let's move on to the items I have loved for this month, shall we?

From Left to Right:
1. Queen Helene Grape Seed Extract Peel Off Masque
This product claims to be able to clean clogged pores, soften facial lines, soothes and tones skin.
I was eyeing this masque and the mint one that day in watsons (sold at about $12), but was unsure whether they were suitable for sensitive skin. After doing some research, I discovered that the beauty community online have been raving about these products since 81912921 years ago! I knew I had to get it, and lucky me, I found a time sales on Qoo10.sg which was having promotions for these masques and some lotions from the brand. In the end I got 3 different Queen Helene masques for a total of $15. SUCH A STEAL RIGHT!! I love peel off masques, and this one is especially easy to use and really fun to peel. I have been using this masque 2 times a week for the month of May, and although there are no significantly visible results, my skin feels really clean and fresh after using the masque, and it also feels so much softer! As someone who puts on makeup on a daily basis, I feel like this masque really does help at removing all the junk in my pores and revealing a more radiant skin. The only downside is that it has a glue-like consistency which is quite hard to spread on the face.
2. CHANEL Snowflakes Cosmetic Pouch (in Large)
Even though this is supposed to be a cosmetic pouch, I prefer to use it as a clutch for days where I don't really need to carry much things other than my Phone and Wallet. The design is so elegant and versatile, it matches any outfit! I have this in the larger size, and hence it has so much space to hold a bunch of things. I especially love the snowflake zippers, too cute!

3. Dr. Morita Hyaluronic Acid Facial Mask
I have been using the toner from this brand, and found it to be quite good. When I stumbled upon the brand's masks at Chinatown while shopping with Meipeng, I was really curious and wanted to try it out. It was pretty inexpensive considering the brand, and was priced at $9.90 for a box of 10. I am sure Watsons or SASA carry this too, but at a higher price. This item really did not disappoint me! The mask sheets were of high quality and adhere to the skin very well! The smell is good and the essence is really moisturizing and thick, without being runny. I can put on the mask and continue with my usual activities without having to worry that the essence will trickle down my neck or that the mask will start detaching by itself. After using the masks, my skin feels more supple and moisturized, and the dry patches around my nose and chin were all cured! The only thing about this mask is that I have a feeling it is quite intensive and hence should not be used more than once a week, in my opinion.
4. Benefit Lolli Tint
4. Benefit Lolli Tint
The Pantone Color of the Year 2014 is Radiant Orchid, and that explains my craze for anything that's pinkish purple. My favourite Korean Youtuber "So Young's beauty room" loved the Benefit Lolli Tint and I was dying to get one for myself too. Honestly, the price for the full size tint is such a turnoff, so I got myself the sample size instead to try out the shade in case it is not suitable to my skin color whatsoever. Thankfully, the tint works out just fine with my skin tone! I prefer this as a blush more than a lip tint because my natural lips are quite pigmented and hence the tint does not show up well. I know I can conceal my lips with foundation or concealer, but I dislike the thought of consuming such chemicals. This tint last the whole day (8 hours or more) on my cheeks, and give my face a special look - Is she wearing a pink blush or a purple blush??? (Hehe)
Below is the swatch for the lolli tint.

5. CHANEL ROUGE COCO Hydrating Creme Lip Color #98
I got another sample size purple shade lip product to try out how it will work with my face. I love the consistency of this lipstick, as it is very creamy and moisturizing. The color payoff is awesome, and the sample size is small enough to provide better application control. The formula is not exactly long lasting, and disappears after food consumption, leaving a purplish tint on the lips. This shade goes well with the lolli tint on the cheeks, which is the makeup look I have been going to for the past few weeks.
6. Aritaum Honey Melting Tint
6. Aritaum Honey Melting Tint
I was so excited when I found this on Qoo10.sg going for 2+1 promotion! I wanted this ever since the same Korean Youtuber mentioned above exclaimed her love for these tints. I understand that Aritaum has pretty awesome products, but have never owned any cosmetics from them until now! I got myself 3 shades at a go: Strawberry Chips, Coral candy and Grapefruit Soda. I received Grapefruit Soda as the free +1 item, which was randomly distributed. Initially I was hoping to be sent a more neutral shade, but to my surprise Grapefruit Soda is the color I wore the most out of all the 3 shades! These tints are super moisturizing and glossy, and really does leave a nice bright tint on the lips. The only problem I have with these is that because the bullet itself does not have a sharp edge, I have a hard time during application as I need to be super careful and precise to prevent smudging the product out of the lip line. Shaping the cupid's bow is a challenge with the round bullet. Nonetheless, I still love these tints because they are moisturizing, lightweight, super pigmented and glossy! I'm a bit tired of seeing dry, chapped lips which matte tints causes.

7. DIOR Lip Glow Color Revival Balm
This may appear a little gross because it's been too well loved by me. In fact, this item should be on every single monthly favourites post until I run out of it because that is exactly how awesome this item is. Many people mistaken that this item has no color whatsoever and is just merely a lip balm. This is a misconception! This lip glow adjusts its color according to the chemistry of the lips, and the result is a special shade of pink that is unique to each person. On my lips, the lip glow transforms into a sweet hot pink color that is glossy and moisturizing. It leaves a stain after the balm wears off, which ensures that your lips are never bare. Whenever I head out, I usually put on a normal bright lipstick, and layer this lip glow on after that lipstick wears off. The lip glow not only cure the dryness left behind by the previous lipstick, it also works with the lipstick stain left behind and enhances the lip color. The best thing is that I do not even need a mirror to apply this because it really is a easy and non-fussy lip product. I think when I finish my current tube (thanks boyfriend!), I will definitely get myself another one because I cannot survive without it. I have never reached for a lip product so much in my life.
8. THE FACE SHOP Aura Color Control Cream
CC creams have been all the hype recently, and many brands have been introducing their own takes on CC creams. However, I have only tried 1 CC cream so far, and that is this Aura Color Control Cream from The Face Shop. With this product, I do not see the need to try out any other CC creams because this CC cream is a perfect match to what I want in a base makeup product. This is a little embarrassing, but I have received sooooo many compliments about my skin whenever I wear this CC Cream (hehe). I find that the Beauty Blender works really well in applying this product, and it gives this really natural finish that allows my actual skin to shine through while correcting any dull complexion I might have. The oil control is pretty good! I only have to blot once out of 8 hours of wear. I do not feel like I am wearing anything on my skin when I use this CC cream. In addition, as it comes in a compact design it is travel friendly and easy to use! It has SPA30, PA++ and I wear shade #01. One tub(?) lasted me for about a year or so, because only very little amount is needed for the entire face and neck. I'm about to run out of product soon, so I'm planning to repurchase it from Qoo10.sg which sells it soooo much cheaper than in TFS stores. Really really recommend this for girls who has an overall good complexion and just want a base to provide radiance and light coverage.

9. Arm Candies
I probably caught on the arm candies trend a tad too late, but recently I really enjoy layering these beautiful bracelets on my hand along with a watch. The only downside is that they can be quite annoying when washing hands, and I really hate the feeling when my metal watch overlaps the bracelet because I fear that the crystals will start falling out. Nonetheless, I will definitely get more soon, especially the rope ones because they can be tightened to fit my small wrists.
10. Samsung Galaxy S5 & CHANEL N°5 PARFUM mobile case
10. Samsung Galaxy S5 & CHANEL N°5 PARFUM mobile case
When I first got my new phone, many people have been asking whether S5 is good. It's been about 2 months since I first got it, and I know this is a bit too early for me to say, but S5 IS AN AWESOME PHONE!! As compared to S3, I really like how stable the system is and there's minimal application crashing and almost no lag at all. The rear camera is awesome, as we all know. I like the front camera because of the Beauty Effect that it comes with by default, however the MP for the front camera leaves more to be desired. Nonetheless, I feel that selfies look the best when they are not so clear, yeah? (laugh)
The phone is a little big for my liking, as I have quite small hands, however there is a single-hand function whereby your entire screen will shrink to a corner and you can use your phone like usual with only one hand. I can text with one hand thanks to this function! Overall, S5 is a really functional phone with minimal gimmicks, and is more suitable for mature users who value stability over fun but unnecessary functions.
By the way, this is a little random but I am in love with my new phone case. Shoutout to da boyfriend for giving me such a pretty case! Not only is it in hot pink, but I also really like that it comes with the lanyard. While I was working at the Motherhood expo fair for AIA, I had to look after kids in the ball pool and holding my phone on my hand is quite inconvenient especially when I have to carry babies in and out of the pool. Thankfully for the lanyard, I can free my hands out for those cute little chubby toddlers (or tiny devils). Initially I was worried that the lanyard might break off or something but so far it's been secure and reliable, phew!

That's about it for now! I have to catch up with my braces post soon!
XOXO,
Iris
